Which host should you choose for an Arma 3 server?

All Arma 3 hosts look alike on paper. In practice, five criteria separate a smooth server from one that lags the moment you load RHS and ACE. Here's what to look at.

1. Processor frequency (the number 1 criterion)

Arma 3 relies heavily on single-core frequency. A modern high-frequency CPU (such as the Ryzen 9 7950X3D at 5.7 GHz) will always outperform an old low-end multi-core processor. This is even more true with lots of AI and vehicles on screen.

2. RAM suited to heavy mods

  • 4 GB: vanilla server or small co-op mission.
  • 6 to 8 GB: modded server (RHS, ACE) or 20+ players.
  • 10 GB and more: big mod pack, Antistasi, active community.

3. Anti-DDoS protection included

A popular server attracts attacks, especially on operation nights. Permanent, included Anti-DDoS protection is not an option: it's what keeps your server online when it matters.

4. The management panel

A good panel saves you hours. Make sure it handles Steam Workshop mod installation in 1 click and the -mod= parameter automatically (see Which mods to install), a real-time console and logs, as well as file access.

5. Delivery and support

Delivery should be instant, and support responsive and available. When something goes wrong on an operation night, it makes all the difference.

In short: a recent high-frequency CPU + NVMe + RAM suited to mods + Anti-DDoS included + a full panel + available support.
