How do you install mods on a Farming Simulator 25 server?

An FS25 server without mods is wasted potential: the game lives through its tractors, its maps, its animals and its community scripts. But one mod too many, or an incompatible one, and the server refuses to start. Here is how to add them cleanly, from the simplest to the most manual.

Start from the ModHub, the verified source

The ModHub is the official FS25 catalogue: the mods there are checked by GIANTS and designed to activate easily on the server side. Always start with it. The thing to verify before any addition: compatibility with your version of the game, because a mod meant for another version will block the game.

Enable mods from the web interface

In the Dedicated Server's web interface, open the mod management, tick the ModHub mods to enforce, then confirm. The server makes them available and each player who joins downloads them automatically before entering: no need to ask them to do anything on their side.

Mods outside the ModHub, by hand

• A mod fetched elsewhere goes into the server's mods folder, via the panel's file explorer or WebFTP.
• Add them one by one and test each time: it's the only way to isolate the culprit.
• Set aside dubious files: an unverified mod is the prime suspect for a crash at launch.

When the server refuses to start

If the game no longer restarts after an addition, remove the last installed mod and restart: in the vast majority of cases, it's the one. Then check on the player side that the mod list displays properly before inviting everyone.

Treat your mods like a herd: you add a few, watch them coexist, then grow the flock, never everything at once, or you'll no longer know which one is blocking.
