Join a Frozen Flame Server: the 3 possible paths

Connecting to a Frozen Flame world is no witchcraft once you know which door to enter by. Public server, private, or hosted by a friend: the steps vary slightly from case to case. Here are the three paths to join the game, and the three grains of sand that most often jam things up the moment you click "Join".

Path 1: through the server list

In Frozen Flame's multiplayer menu, browse the list of visible servers. Spot the name, enter the password if it asks for one, then start the connection. It's the most direct way in for any public server.

Path 2: by direct IP

If a friend hosts their own dedicated server, all you need is their IP address and port. Enter them in the direct-connect option, add the password if needed, and there you are in their world. It's the most reliable method when the server doesn't show up in the public list.

Path 3: on invite

For a closed game among friends, the host simply shares the connection details: address and password. Keep them aside — they stay valid as long as the server stays on.

The three grains of sand that block you

Version mismatch: your client and the server must be on the same version. Run the update before you try to connect.
Sleeping server: on a personal PC in standby, the world becomes unreachable. A server hosted 24/7 removes the worry (see How to host a Frozen Flame server 24/7).
Closed ports: on the host side, a badly done forward blocks any connection from outside.
