Joining a dedicated Satisfactory server goes through the game's Servers menu: you add the server with its IP address and port, enter the password if needed, and join the session. Here is the procedure, for the host as well as the guests.
1. Get the server address
You need the server IP and its port (7777 by default). With a host, this address is provided on delivery; when self-hosting, it is the public IP of the host machine, with the port correctly opened.
2. Add the server in the game
- Launch Satisfactory and open the "Servers" tab from the main menu.
- Click "Add server" and enter the address in
IP:PORTformat. - The server appears in your list with its status (online / offline).
3. Connect and choose the session
Select the server, enter the game password if it has one, then join the current session. If the server was just created, the administrator has to claim it first and load a save, a point detailed in How to set up a Satisfactory server.
Co-op, up to 4 players
Satisfactory is played cooperatively up to 4 players on the same session. The point of a dedicated server: unlike a game hosted by a player, the session stays online 24/7 and the factory keeps producing even when everyone is disconnected.
If the server does not show as "online", check the IP, the port (7777) and, when self-hosting, the port opening on the router. That is the most common cause of connection failure.
The simplest: a server always reachable
To avoid dynamic IP and closed port headaches, a hosted server keeps a fixed, stable address, reachable at any time. Launch your Satisfactory server with Fly-Serv from €5.99/month: address ready to share, Anti-DDoS included and FlyPanel to manage everything. No server yet? Create yours by following How to create a dedicated Satisfactory server, or order directly on the Satisfactory page.
